Lady Knights Alumni and Middle Schoolers Get Together

It was a fun afternoon with our young ladies past and present of Saint Peter Claver. We cooked, sang, danced, and laughed. The alumni showed us some stepping, dancing, and promised to teach us some new steps.

We have formed our club, and we are going to call ourselves the Lady Knights. We will meet once a month to share our knowledge, lend support to each other, and have fun.  Next meeting is Friday, November 29th 3-5 pm.

We hope to see all our Lady Knights there!

Now is the Time for Running SPC Soccer Tournament

A great day for a tournament!

It was a windy and warm, but all the teams played their hearts out. Third vs. Fourth grade went to a shoot out, and then went to pulling the goalie free kicks. Fourth grade rallied and won.

Fourth played Fifth and the older grades continued to win, with 8th grade taking the title. I was very proud that Chanel scored for the 8th grade team!

It was a fun afternoon and the 8th grade really appreciated all the sales at the concession stand.  I really appreciated the 8th grade cleaning up in the end!

6th grade Hatchet shelter

6th grade is reading the novel, Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen, a native of Minnesota.

Winner of the 1988 Newbery Honor

Thirteen-year-old Brian Robeson is on his way to visit his father when the single engine plane in which he is flying crashes. Suddenly, Brian finds himself alone in the Canadian wilderness with nothing but his clothing, a tattered windbreaker, and the hatchet his mother has given him as a present — and the dreadful secret that has been tearing him apart ever since his parents’ divorce. But now Brian has no time for anger, self-pity, or despair — it will take all his know-how and determination, and more courage than he knew he possessed, to survive.

We made a shelter, like Brian’s that had a windbreak, but also would protect us from animals. The rain could still get through, but would slow it down. We read out loud chapter 9, and had a treat of apples. (Brian had raspberries, but apples are cheaper right now in Minnesota!)
